When drawing cartoons and characters, I often find it useful to experiment with different ways to exaggerate bodies and proportions, in order to find a unique style. This was an idea I had, to try a subvert the typical "Barbie doll" physique, into something slightly more honest. I wanted her to still be beautiful, but to also have some of the awkwardness and disproportion that real bodies have. I decided to add the Frankenstein like stitches and scars to try and emphasise that she is not flawless like a Barbie doll, but rather more haphazard, like a rag-doll.
